The annual Volunteers’ Week – at the start of June each year – is a great opportunity to celebrate local volunteers. You could:
- organise meet-ups
- stage award ceremonies
- highlight your wonderful volunteers on social media
- get stories in the local press.

The 2025 Volunteers’ Week runs from 2-8 June and ends with another community celebration, The Big Lunch. This initiative encourages communities to get together and break bread (or share cake) right across the UK. Big Lunches can be as fancy or simple as you like. People behind the campaign say: “It’s a great way to get to know each other better, have a good time and celebrate where you live.”
