IT was the factory turned nightclub that attracted a galaxy of stars.
La Fabrique in Bo’ness secured big names like the Bay City Rollers, Lulu, and Des O’Connor.
It was one of the places to go in the 1970s.
Today the nightclub is long gone, replaced by a branch of Lidl. But the memories of the venue linger on.
Residents are being asked to share memories of La Fabrique at Bo’ness Library on Friday, March 28. The reminiscence event will start at 1.30 p.m. No need to book, just turn up.
Library staff have already dug out pictures of some of the stars who visited Bo’ness. They have also found articles online, including this piece in the Glasgow Evening Times.
Bo’net highlighted the La Fabrique story in a town centre audio guide.
Here’s the piece about La Fabrique, including contributions from Bo’net committee members Madelene Hunt and Maria Ford as well as the late Robert Jardine, a Bo’ness historian.
Reminiscence sessions are held every month in the library as part of the Memories Scotland initiative.
