Become a charity trustee with Bo’net – and help support Bo’ness
Bo’net, the Bo’ness Networking Group, is looking for new volunteers to join our committee of trustees. This is group that helps run and guide our local charity. If you live in Bo’ness and want to make a positive difference in the community, we’d love to hear from you.
What is Bo’net?
Bo’net (Bo’ness Networking Group) supports local community groups, charities, and organisations in the town. We help bring people together, promote local projects, and strengthen community spirit.
What’s a trustee?
As a charity trustee in Scotland, you’ll be part of a small group responsible for making key decisions about how the charity is run. You don’t need to be an expert – just someone who is community-minded and willing to work with others.
Trustee duties include:
- Attending committee meetings (several per year)
- Helping set the charity’s direction and priorities
- Ensuring Bo’net is well-managed and follows charity rules
- Supporting activities that benefit Bo’ness and its people
You will act in line with OSCR’s charity trustee duties, which include acting in the charity’s best interests, managing finances responsibly, and ensuring transparency. You can read more about trustee duties at: www.oscr.org.uk
What we need?
- People living in Bo’ness
- Bo’net members (it’s free – join at www.bonet.org.uk)
- You must have a genuine interest in helping the town
- Plus a willingness to attend meetings and contribute ideas
We welcome people from all backgrounds, ages, and experiences. If you’ve never been on a committee before, don’t worry – support and guidance are available.
