Bo’ness Town Trust Association has unveiled its new programme of talks.

The first event of the new season takes place on Thursday, 18 September 2025. Local historian Christine Simm will speak on the Whaling Industry of Bo’ness. The subject had been scheduled previously, but was postponed. Organisers say they hope for a strong turnout to mark the start of the new programme.

Meetings are held monthly at St Catharine’s Church Hall, Cadzow Crescent, Bo’ness, starting at 7.30pm.

Future meetings are:

  • 16 October 2025Upper Forth Boat Club 1895–2025, with Charlie Simpson
  • 20 November 2025Munitionettes, with Kathryn Welch
  • 15 January 2026History of Bo’ness Parks, with Geoff Bailey
  • 19 February 2026This Princely Seat… Amongst the Finest Seats in Britain, with Ian Shearer
  • 19 March 2026Seabox Society, with Ian Scott

Membership costs just £5 for the season, covering single members or joint membership (if you join with a family member).

The Association says the evenings offer a great opportunity to learn more about the area’s heritage while enjoying tea, coffee and biscuits – and “sometimes homemade shortbread” – for a small donation at the end of the night.
