Community groups in the Bo’ness area – working with children and young people – are being encouraged to apply for funding from Tesco.
Shoppers vote for eligible groups and projects using blue tokens in Tesco stores. The most votes gets the most cash, up to £1500.
Sharon Stoddart, a community enabler with Greenspace Scotland – which works with the supermarket giant – said: “Get your application in now! Tesco Stronger Starts needs applications from schools and organisations working with children and young people.”
Examples of eligible projects include:
- School Breakfast clubs
- Holiday clubs
- Play areas
- Food banks
- Counselling and support services for children
- Equipment or non-statutory services for nurseries or schools e.g. forest schools, library books
- Equipment for Brownie, Guide or Scout Groups e.g. camping equipment, badges
- Services or equipment to support children and young people’s health
- Equipment/kit for youth sports teams
The scheme is open to registered charities and not-for-profit organisations, via an on-line application form. To find out more or to apply, please visit the Tesco Stronger Starts page. https://www.greenspacescotland.org.uk/grant-funding
