The charity TCV is calling for local young people to apply for traineeships.
Lizzy Turner from the charity explained: “I’m getting in touch to share an exciting opportunity: The Conservation Volunteers’ John Muir Way Green Skills Traineeship.
“This is a 10‑month paid programme designed to upskill young people in a wide range of green skills along the John Muir Way and within Falkirk. We are now entering the second year of the traineeship and have officially reopened recruitment, with a start date in May.
“We are looking to recruit young people aged 16–24, living in Falkirk, who face barriers to employment and would benefit from supported training and work experience. I would be very grateful if you could share this opportunity with anyone who may be interested, or circulate it within your networks.”
Trainees in the Falkirk area will be based at TCV’s Jupiter base in Grangemouth.
Lizzy added: “Thanks to the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and our local authority partners, we are thrilled to recruit a second cohort of trainees. This project enhances biodiversity and creates green corridors across four local authority areas, while helping young people gain valuable green skills and Lantra-certified qualifications that support their future career pathways.”
