Bo’net considers updated constitution

The Bo’ness Networking Group (Bo’net) will consider changes to its constitution at its AGM on Wednesday 2 September 2026.

The draft 2026 constitution (up for discussion) is posted here (PDF)

The proposed constitution does not fundamentally change the nature or objectives of Bo’net, but it introduces a number of important governance improvements:

  • More modern communications
  • Recognition of online and hybrid meetings
  • Reduced trustee quorum to improve operational resilience
  • Stronger conflict-of-interest management
  • Electronic decision-making between meetings
  • More flexible use of co-opted trustees
  • Clearer winding-up procedures and regulatory compliance

You can also read the EXISTING constitution here, to contrast the changes (PDF)

Bo’net worked with CVS Falkirk and District to draft the new, proposed constitution.

Any changes approved at the AGM would need to be ratified with OSCR, the Charity Regulator, after the meeting.
